What is Apeel?

What's is Actually Apeel?

This FDA-approved invisible coating consisting:

• fatty acids and 
• other organic compounds taken from the peels, seeds, stems, and pulp of other fruits and vegetables. 

This extra “peel” seals in moisture and keeps oxygen out

In other words, 

Apeel mimics the natural protective layering of peels possessed by most fruits and vegetables to shield them from rotting away.

Is it Harmful?

Apeel, which is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, is safe to eat. 

Its ingredients are already consumed daily as part of a normal diet. 

These are designated as Generally Regarded as Safe by the FDA.

Apeel comes in the form of a powder and is mixed with water and it can be applied by spray, dip, or brush-on methods 

Currently, 

Apeel-sprayed avocados are reportedly already being sold at Kroger, Costco, and Harps Food Stores across the U.S. 

Apeel notes that it can be applied to USDA Certified Organic produce. 

It’s also not a GMO because it’s not derived from genetically engineered plant material. 

What is GMO?

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can be defined as organisms (i.e. plants, animals, or microorganisms) in which the genetic material (DNA) has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally by mating and/or natural recombination.

My Opinion:

This start-up is invested by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, also many Certified tests made it safe to consume as well as safe for use.

I would say, something like deserve a respect. I'm pretty much happy to encounter this invention and able to learn what actually can Apeel is and how it will promote the safety and freshness of food.
